The event was an ongoing sale to mark the company's thirty year anniversary. I took this opportunity to reach a younger audience who don't mind some humor and a conversational tone in their copy. This article also let me exercise my storytelling muscles, dipping into the company history.
I pulled from the final version to create drafts for an email marketing campaign and flyers which accompanied the announcement. Truth be told, I had a little fun with that, especially finding and editing all of the pictures of parties and dogs.
Three Decades of the Best Document Management Software
It’s our birthday, so we’re allowed to toot our own horn. For decades, Computhink has been providing some of the best document management software to customers in a variety of industries and all over the world. We’re a big deal, especially for a relatively small shop, and we’re proud to continue doing great work and providing highly rated customer service. We want to take a moment to reflect on how Contentverse and Computhink have grown over the years. Oh – and we’re also offering new customers a discount on upfront user license costs. Just a little thank you for letting us wax nostalgic.
From humble beginnings to document management
We started out in 1994, providing ID badges for the United Nations, and we developed an image management solution as part of our offerings. A few iterations later in 1995, we released a more robust document management program called The Paperless Office. This was the grandpappy of Contentverse – the same genes but not yet the powerhouse you’d recognize today.
The Paperless Office was a hit, and we branched out from our original focus on the UN. Our ECM solution was also a global success, though! Through partnership with international MSPs and vendors, we earned the business of customers on five continents. In 1999, we changed the name to ViewWise. We also forged relationships with technology partners that joined us on our journey. The development team was able to incorporate Optical Character Recognition for reading printed text on scanned files, using automated indexing to streamline filing processes. We began adding integrations to our offerings, with popular business products like Salesforce.
Recognition for Computhink’s success
Contentverse joined the wider world of business software in the 2000s. In 2006, Computhink became a Microsoft Certified Partner. From 2009 to 2013, we made the grade for Business Solutions’ “Best Channel Vendor” and “Best Channel Product” awards. We’ve continued to receive accolades through the following years, including winning FindTheBest’s “Smart Choice Award” and landing among Healthcare Tech Outlook’s “20 Most Promising Document Management Solution Providers.”

Contentverse set itself apart by catering to organizations’ clerical employees who were juggling outdated business practices and thousands of paper files. By offering a way to digitize and organize this paperwork in an electronic filing system, our ECM could bring legacy operations into the 21st century. One of our customers, a telecommunications equipment supplier with dozens of pages to scan in each day, said that they “would recommend Contentverse without hesitation, because it did what it said it would do straight away. We got a return on our investment from day one.”
In addition to serving this core market, we resolved to reach new customers whose data was already stored on servers and workstations. That meant adding new features and updating our brand in step with new client needs. In 2013, ViewWise became Contentverse, with more than a fresh coat of paint. Our designers revamped the user interface, taking cues from popular MS Office products. We also rolled out cloud offerings and laid the groundwork for what would become CV Mobile a few years later. Our free mobile app hit Android and Apple marketplaces in 2016. Even though a company VPN could still allow for easy desktop access anywhere in the world, now traveling users could easily look up files from their phone or tablet.
Leadership guides document management through 2020
Throughout most of the 2010s, Joe Wharram took the Computhink reigns as CEO and President. He helped Computhink form a strategic alliance with TOI Group. Towards the end of a successful tenure, Joe led us through the first year of the pandemic. Like most tech businesses, Computhink employees spent this time working remotely. Many companies needed new ways to collaborate digitally and share files with teams that they couldn’t see in-person. Contentverse was the answer to some of these needs, with its digital processes, remote access, and easy on-boarding. We had an opportunity to learn from customers – online access through a web app would be invaluable to them. We kicked our web application development into high gear.
As the previous CEO retired to spend more time with his mastiff, VP of development Rajesh Ramachandran took over as CEO and President. He’s done an amazing job piloting the team through the last years of the pandemic and bringing the Contentverse online access dream home. In 2020, we released the first version of the Enterprise Web client – not merely an alternative means for logging into the ECM but a full solution that has opened the door to so many more ways to manage documents. Users can log in from any browser, no need to install software on their workstation or set up a VPN. The new online Professional and Enterprise Web clients have become so popular with customers that we’re helping all of our users transition to this groundbreaking web-based experience.
2024 document management and the road ahead
Good times. Good times. That’s the great thing about good times – they keep on rolling. Even with an awesome portfolio like that, our best work is still ahead of us. In recent years, we have continued to make thousands of little improvements to Contentverse. Among other major features, we have also added Secure Link for safely sending documents without taking them out of Contentverse; template documents which come pre-loaded with key files chosen by your team; the dashboard for monitoring workflows and quickly accessing templates; and our brand new Docusign integration.
But wait…There’s more! We’re not done improving and enhancing our document management software, and we sure aren’t done innovating. Our team is working on more tools for collaborating with your team on shared documents and exploring the version history of individual docs. We continue to research and try out cutting edge technologies. Some of what’s coming down the pipeline is top secret, so we will be updating you as progress unfolds.
We’ve discounted the best document management software for you
It’s not all of the sentimentality and nostalgia talking – we really just love our customers. It’s Computhink’s birthday, and we choose to spend it being a little beneficent. For one month, we’re offering you a $30 discount on up-front licenses. That’s May 23rd to June 23rd this year. Get them while they’re hot!
